From February 5th to February 7th, the 2nd Meeting of the Inorganic and Organometallic Chemistry section (RQIO) of the Catalan Society of Chemistry (SCQ) took place in Tarragona (Catalonia, Spain), with large participation of our group. Two of them were recognized with two different awards.
First of all, Christos Christou, PhD student in our group under the supervision of Prof. Miquel Costas, presented his work "Supramolecularly directed enantioselective g-lactonization of carboxylic acids using bioinspired manganese catalysts" and was awarded with a best poster award. Congratulations Christos!
Then, Dr. Carles Fuertes Espinosa presented his research on "Light-driven molecular motors within confined spaces", which was award with a Best Oral Communication award. Congratulations Carles!

From our group, Filippo Scharchilli and Andrea Álvarez delivered an oral communication on "Highy selective C(sp3)-H bond oxygenation at remote methylenic sites enabled by polarity enhancement" and "Exploring the intramolecular chemistry of iron(V)-oxo-carboxylato species" respectively. Tània Pèlachs, Nikos Siakavaras and Najoua Choukairi Afailal presented a flash communication on "Supramolecular mask regio-converter: Orthogonal Diels-Alder C70 bis-adducts by mask-mediated regioselective synthesis", "Asymmetric g-C-H lactonization as a new approach for the synthesis of quaternary chiral malonates" and "Dearomative oxiation of arenes" respectively. Judith Sala, David Capellán, Eric Aparicio and Piyush Singhal presented their research in the poster session.
