Prof. Miquel Costas and Prof. Daniel Maspoch (ICN2, Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology) have been awarded with one of the grants by BBVA Foundation Fundamentos Program for the project "RETICAT - Reticular Enzyme-Mimetic Catalysis" to develop a new generation of catalysts inspired by enzymes to enable more sustainable and efficient chemical processes relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. The 3-year project aims to use reticular structures (MOFs and COFs) to simulate the structure of the cavities found in enzymes to control the selectivity and stability of the chemical reactions that occur within them. Dr. Xavi Ribas and Dr. Arnau Call are the team members associated to the program.
BBVA Foundation Fundamentos Program intends to support exploratory research on core or fundamental questions in a scientific field or at the intersection of various disciplines. Congratulations Miquel!
